Special Mention

Marcus Hall - Colorado

Beginning his freshman year, Marcus has led the Colorado Buffs as its point guard. He averaged 11.2ppg and 4.4 assists. He ranks 28 on Colorado's All-Time Assist list. I fully expect Marcus to become a Big 12 All-Conference player.

Derrick Roberts - SMU

Derrick started almost all of the games he played as a freshman at SMU this past year. In high school, he was the leading scorer, not only in Houston, but in the entire state of Texas. I fully expect him to garner All-Conference Honors in the coming years. On another note, Derrick is an accomplised pianist.

Darryl Dora - Texas Tech

Darryl started 7 games in his first year as a Freshman. He started almost every game this past season as a Sophmore. If he gets physically stronger, I have no doubts that Darryl will have the opportunity to have a wonderful professional career. I asked him if I am an angel compared to Coach Knight. He stated". . . No, his tail is longer than yours . . . that's all." I love him, anyway. He calls every other week.

Chamberlain Oguchi - Oregon

"Champ" is the best pure shooter we've ever had with Select. As a Freshman, Champ started slowly with Oregon. However, he finished the season in a big way starting numerous games in PAC 10 Conference Play. Champ was recently named to the Nigerian National Team and will have the opportunity to play both the World Games and the coming Olympics.

Torrence Botts - U of H

2 Sport letterman in Basketball and Football as a "walk-on". My Kind of guy. "Played like a thug . . . Lived like a gentleman". Played hard. Played intense. Very hard to coach. Never took my advice. I loved him.
